Gotta Love The Usenet

The Usenet is a hugely effective, and probably underestimated due to its venerable age, way of finding information online. Whatever you're into, it's likely that you'll find a newsgroup dedicated to the topic, and that experts hanging out there might help you with your specific questions. Your mileage may vary, as many newsgroups have a low signal-to-noise ratio due to spam and vocal, highly opinionated people with little insight to share. Click here for details on how to connect to the Usenet if you're not already there. Heck, even the ads on this page itself seem to figure out it's all about the Usenet, so click'em.

Andrei enjoys participating in Usenet conversations (time permitting, sigh) on various newsgroups, such as comp.lang.c++.moderated, comp.std.c++, comp.text.tex or comp.lang.perl.misc. He enthusiastically recommends the first three as outstanding, but considers the last one not a very reliable source of good information. Andrei posts as well, and enjoys thinking of his posts as witty, incisive, and enjoyable to read. Truth be told, such judgment has little grounds in reality and is based solely on how he feels while writing those posts. At any rate, his Usenet participation is large enough to warrant a mention on his website, so here it is.
